This summer, the marketplaces Ozon and Wildberries recorded a significant increase in sales of portable speaker systems. According to Ozon, their sales grew by 50%, while on Wildberries, they grew by 30%. An Ozon representative links this positive trend to increased demand for speakers with voice assistants.
Interestingly, MTS data shows the opposite trend for the market as a whole: over the summer, about 870,000 devices were sold for a total of over 4 billion rubles, which is 8% and 7% less, respectively, than a year earlier. The top 3 brands according to MTS were led by little-known Chinese manufacturers (27%), JBL (16%), and Defender (10%). Ozon, however, reports leadership by JBL, Xiaomi, and Defender, while Wildberries reports popularity of JBL, Sven, and Xiaomi.
