The new location will occupy a two-story, 566-square-meter space that previously belonged to the jewelry house Tiffany & Co. This event marks the technology brand's entry into the premium retail segment, although experts believe the project's main goal is to strengthen its image rather than drive direct sales.
The premium location and its cost
GUM has traditionally been one of the retail properties with the highest rental costs in Russia. According to analysts' estimates, rates here range from 50 to 90 thousand rubles per square meter per year. Based on these figures, the monthly rental payments for the HUAWEI space could reach 3.3 million rubles. Such investments underline the project's exclusively image-building character.
"The opening of a HUAWEI salon in GUM, which is primarily oriented towards tourist traffic, is of a demonstrative nature," experts comment. "The main audience of the premium segment in Moscow traditionally makes purchases in the Kuznetsky Most area and adjacent streets."
